Another Successful Adopt-a-Highway Cleanup!
Because we had such a great turnout for our quarterly clean-up of CFC’s “adopted” portion of River Road yesterday we complete the Adopt-a-Hwy clean-up in 32 minutes flat!!

Bethel Paris presents $1000 check to ECGA

ECGA check presentations 2009Dennis Markatos-Soriano accepts $1000 check from the Cape Fear Cyclists, presented by Bethel Paris at the conclusion of the cycling tour of the St. John's River to the Sea Loop in Florida, November 14, 2009.

This money was raised through the CFC “Return of the Hot 100” in September 2009. The ECGA will use these funds for their NC committee and toward the hiring of a Trail Liaison for the ECGA South Atlantic region which includes SC, NC and VA.  An additional new portion of the East Coast Greenway will likely be dedicated in New Hanover County in the autumn of 2010.

Barry Wray and Erol Caglarcan found a solution through a subsidiary organization of IMBA called SORBA (Southern Off-Road Biking Association) which has chapters in the Southeast. Here is an extract form the SORBA’s website that explains their mission:
