Another Successful Adopt-a-Highway Cleanup! |

Because we had such a great turnout for our quarterly clean-up of CFC’s “adopted” portion of River Road yesterday we complete the Adopt-a-Hwy clean-up in 32 minutes flat!!
This was the first “pick-up” of our newly assigned section of River Road beginning at the intersection with Sanders road and running south for two miles to River Breeze Road (for the past 22 years CFC has had the two miles north of Sanders Road).
We collected 17 bags of highway litter which will be picked up by DOT and 10 bags of recyclable cans, glass bottles and plastic containers. I especially want to thank Julie Brown who took the recyclables to a recycling center
Following the cleanup there were bagels and drinks and award of prizes to the lucky folks that found the “Yellow Bottle” or had the nearest birthday. Club members then bicycled down River Road to Carolina / Kure Beach and the Ft Fisher Ferry terminal Our special thanks to the folks that helped with this event …my apologies to the three people whose names I couldn’t decipher on the sign-in sheet J : John Absi
