COURSE MAPS: Our courses this year are the same as 2018. Maps are available digitally online through RIDEWITHGPS.COM or you may pick up a pre-printed map and cue sheet at the registration tent. We offer:
BIKE SUPPORT: Pre-ride bike tech support is provided by Switchin' Gears and will be set up near the event tent on ride day. Switchin' Gears is a non-profit organization that promotes bicycling in Wilmington as a feasible means of transportation, and a means that addresses wealth and health disparities that inevitably exist in our community. Stop by and check them out!
Support & Gear [SAG Wagons] will be on course to provide technical/mechanical assistance. These vehicles will be marked and driving the course all day. If you need help, pull well over onto the shoulder to safety. Generally, the signal for "I need assistance is thumbs down. Thumbs up is the universal sign for "all's well".
If you are in need of immediate medical assistance, call 911.
AID STATIONS: There are four aid stations set up on course. Plus, there will be an aid station at Burgaw Middle School. Each station will provide water, Gatorade, gels and snacks. Riders are encouraged to bring their own reusable bottles for nutrition/hydration.
LUNCH: Lunch is provided for registered riders. You'll receive a lunch ticket at registration to use at PORT CITY QUE or the LA BELLA AIROSA food trucks that are on-site.
NEW FOR 2019: The Kona Ice Truck will be on-site for post-ride sweets and treats. Plus, we've scheduled a blueberry vendor to set up on-site to sell fresh berries. These are not included in your registration so bring cash to purchase!
ON-SITE INFO: Burgaw Middle School is our central hub for the Tour de Blueberry. The cafeteria and gym are open to use in case of heat or rain for lunch. Please remember NO BIKE CLEATS allowed in the gym. And as always, please remember to leave this school looking better than when you arrived.
