Cape Fear Cyclists will lead riders the length of the Gary Shell Cross City Trail. We will start at Empie Park in Wilmington. When you enter the park, turn left if entering from Park Ave. If entering from the basketball court side, turn right into the new parking area that used to be the baseball field. There is a rest room in the area. Please arrive by 8:00 AM so you can check in and be ready to roll no later than 8:30 AM. ALL riders must have a helmet and a bicycle that is road-ready. There will not be mechanical support for this ride. This ride will be a total of 28 miles round trip.

Starting and ending your ride at Empie, the ride will be 20 total miles. We will travel together at approximately 12-14 MPH. There is a store and rest room stop at mile 16.

First-time guest riders are welcome. If you enjoy the experience, we encourage you to Join Us or pick up a membership form at a local bike shop! Your membership not only supports the club and cycling advocacy but also extends insurance coverage to you on club rides and entitles you to discounts at local bike shops.

E-bike riders must have approval prior to the ride by the ride leader. Only Class 1 (pedal assist mode only) e-bikes are allowed on routes. No e-bike motor pacing the front of a pace line. The ride leader reserves the right to ask the cyclist to stay at the rear or leave the group if the e-bike is not being safely operated, as with any unsafe cyclist.  E-Bike classifications
