The John Absi Ride
_____________________________________________________________________________
Ride Description:
As you may aware, long time and founding member of Cape Fear Cyclists, John Absi passed away after a long illness. Using donations received after John’s passing, the Terry Benjey Bicycling Foundation (TBBF) purchased a park bench and placed it along the Cross City Trail. If you rode last Sunday’s Coffee & Roll Ride, it was the shinny new bench we passed on our way back to Greenfield Lake Park. This Sunday, 11/16/25 at 10:30 am, members of the TBBF will be meeting with John’s family to show them the new bench. With help from Brad Sulewski, the ride route for this coming Sunday’s Coffee & Roll ride, has been adjusted such that riders will arrive at John’s bench just before the 10:30 am reveal. To show our support for John, his family, and all that he did for CFC, please join us for this Sunday’s ride and please wear your Cape Fear Cyclist jersey.
Below is a link that provides the location of the bench.
